    Wireless Internet is in Vandalia!

In 2006, the Vandalia City Council approved the installation of a wireless (WiFi) network in two sections of the city in order to provide wireless Internet to the public.  These two areas include the downtown business district and the athletic fields at the Vandalia Recreation Center.

A total of five wireless access points (APs) are available to the public.  The APs are located along National Road between Ranchview and Dixie.  The access reaches Kenbrook to the south, and James Bohanan to the north.  The newest access point is located at the Vandalia Sports Complex on Stonequarry Rd.  More APs will be coming up over the next few weeks.  Please feel free to email the IT Department your comments regarding the free internet service.

The wireless network allows the public to access Internet resources by using WiFi devices within these areas.  The network design, installation, and support will be provided by a Dayton based wireless company, HarborLink.  HarborLink is known for providing wireless access in downtown Dayton and various restaurants across the country.
