The City of Vandalia is accepting applications for the position of entry level Firefighter/Paramedic/Fire Inspector. A provisional eligibility register is being established in anticipation of possible future vacancies. The Fire Division serves a growing, progressive community situated in the northeastern portion of Montgomery County. Vandalia has a diverse commercial and industrial base, with a residential population of approximately 15,000.
Applicants must meet the following criteria: · Be at least 18 years old · Be a U.S. citizen · Reside within a 30-minute response time of the City of Vandalia upon appointment · Three years’ active service as a full or part time firefighter/paramedic · Valid Ohio driver’s license · Ohio Level II Firefighting certification · Ohio Paramedic certification · Ohio Fire Safety Inspector certification · Emergency Vehicle Operator Course and/or two years’ fire apparatus driving experience. · An Associate's Degree or two years’ credit from an accredited university or college is also preferred.
The current base salary of an entry-level full time Vandalia Firefighter/Paramedic/Fire Inspector is $48,438 annually with an outstanding benefits package.

FOOD SERVICE ASSISTANT
The City of Vandalia and Cassel Hills Golf Course are seeking Part Time Food Service Assistant candidates to work approximately 12-15 hours per week. Under the direction of the Golf Course Food Service Manager, these key assistants will aid in preparation, service and clean-up of seated and buffet-style banquets as well as short orders at the Golf Snack Bar. They will also play a key role in the overall food service operation to include menu planning, ordering, inventory, safety and sanitation responsibilities.
Interested candidates should exhibit 1-2 years of successful food service background, with good knowledge of modern, large-scale cooking practices; kitchen operations; safety and sanitation requirements. They should have some knowledge of food values and nutrition and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees as well as golf course guests. Preference may be given to those currently pursuing careers in food service operations or hospitality management.
Starting pay range is $8.10 to $8.50, depending on qualifications. The golf course is open daily; some weekend work should be expected.

CITY OF VANDALIA
TEMPORARY PART TIME
With a busy summer and fall ahead, the Vandalia Public Works Department is accepting applications for a Temporary Part Time Technician.
Candidates must be at least 18 and have a valid Ohio driver's license. Those with recent, demonstrated successful experience in landscaping, construction work or similar work will be given first consideration.
The position is temporary. Work hours will be 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. up to five days per week through November. Hourly pay rate is $8.10. There are NO health care or other benefits; the position is strictly temporary and is ideal for a student attending college locally, retiree or as a supplement to another flexible part-time job.
Oral interviews will be conducted as well as an extensive background investigation and drug testing for those holding commercial driver’s licenses.

RESERVE POLICE OFFICERS
Vandalia Division of Police
With a tradition of service excellence, the nationally-accredited Vandalia Police Division accepts applications year ‘round from energetic and skilled professionals who would like to serve our community and citizens as Volunteer Reserve Police Officers.
Applicants must be 21 years old upon application. They must possess or obtain, upon appointment, a valid Ohio driver's license and Ohio Peace Officer certification. Chosen candidates must reside within Montgomery County or in an adjacent county to include Butler, Warren, Greene, Clark, Miami, Darke or Preble.
Reserve Officers receive a non-accountable expense reimbursement of $450. They are provided with uniforms; professional liability insurance; accidental death and dismemberment coverage; a family pass to the municipal swimming pool and individual recreation center and golf passes for their personal use.
